This Rigo Concept – Level 1 course was full of curious and intelligent physical therapists seeking a deeper understanding of non-surgical scoliosis management, scoliosis treatments, scoliosis assessment and physical therapy treatment specific to scoliosis.
They left with evidence-based knowledge, tools, and strategies not only for clinical physical therapy treatment of scoliosis, but also for being a strong team member with orthotists and medical doctors to support the plan of care and management of individual cases for those who have scoliosis.
As I observed these students through the 6-day course, I was very proud of their growth in knowledge and skills. I am confident that upon their return to their home communities, they will improve access and provide high level care for those who have needs related to scoliosis physical therapy.

​Seven amazing therapists traveled to Boston to level up in their Rigo Concept training. On a broad scale, we grew in the knowledge of scoliosis non surgical management, quality of scoliosis specific exercise and treatment options, and acquired insights in our roles of both a liaison to the orthotist and for support of the patient with brace adherence. For the individual patient, we dove deeper into how we combine our clinical and radiological findings to improve our skills in understanding a person’s risk of progression, prognosis, and specific care plan development that balances the literature recommendations with the goals of the MD and the patient. I am so proud of these therapist’s hard work and dedication. I am excited to see how their on-going work impacts scoliosis treatments in their hometowns.

​I enjoyed starting off the New Year with an international group of Physical Therapist at a Rigo Concept L1 course in Boston. The students came in with the common goal of learning about how to manage the condition of scoliosis using Rigo Concept PSSE. Learning the Rigo Concept PSSE and then practicing assessment and treatment was the focus of our course. However, additional benefits of our time together were building connections with each other, discussing case management, sharing ideas about how to build a specialized scoliosis professional team back at their home clinics, and deciding how to stay connected after the course to keep learning from each other. L1 builds a strong foundation for physical therapists to jump back into the clinic the week after the course with skills for treatment and management of the scoliosis condition using scoliosis specific physical therapy. I look forward to working with this fine group of therapists as they advance to their case studies and onto L2. Happy New Year!

​Seven amazing physical therapist attended the first USA Rigo Concept-Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) Level 2 Course. This six-day course aims to level up the PT’s skills and knowledge on the topics related to non-surgical treatment approaches for the conditions of scoliosis and juvenile kyphosis using lecture, measurement, and treatment labs. Additionally, each student presented their personal experiences from their home outpatient rehabilitation clinics by sharing a clinical case study. The whole class learned from each other’s Rigo Concept PSSE practice and scoliosis management experiences. As the course proceeded, the therapists built a deeper understanding about complexity of the conditions of scoliosis and kyphosis and how non-surgical approaches with Rigo Concept could help manage these conditions. These physical therapists worked hard both mentally and physically. These therapists are on track for an L3 Rigo Concept Certification! Rigo Concept - BSPTS is on a mission to provide state of the art and best practice training to more skilled physical therapists around the world in order to offer access to excellent care for those with the condition of scoliosis and juvenile kyphosis. ​I could not have been more impressed by the 10 therapists that attended Rigo Concept-Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) Level 1 Course this March. They came to Boston for six days to learn about non-surgical treatment approaches for the conditions of scoliosis and juvenile kyphosis. The course format included lecture, treatment observation, and hands-on treatment practice. As the course proceeded, the therapists built a deeper understanding about complexity of the conditions of scoliosis and kyphosis. Therefore, a deeper awareness about how the non-surgical approach with Rigo Concept could help manage these conditions. They worked hard mentally and physically.  I know that they will do well using Rigo Concept-BSPTS for those who seek their non-surgical approach to care. Best of luck to this bright class of L1 therapists as they travel back to their hometown clinics. I look forward to hearing from them about their case outcomes as they participate as a strong contributor to a, or as they create a new, scoliosis care team. We did it! Ten Physiotherapists traveled from Idaho, Louisianna, Tennessee, New York, Missouri, and local Texas towns to San Antonio, Texas for Level 1 Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School Rigo Concept Course.

Their goal of coming to this course was to learn the Rigo Concept to improve their understanding of scoliosis, non-surgical scoliosis management, and physiotherapy scoliosis treatment.  
The 6-day course presents a combination of Rigo Concept lectures and hands-on clinical practice.
The small class size allows for close supervision and guided learning of the proper understanding and use of the newly learned Rigo Method physiotherapy scoliosis specific exercise strategies and techniques.

It was a pleasure, to spend a week with these amazing physiotherapists.  Many of them are going home to a town, clinic, or hospital that has never treated scoliosis with physiotherapy. Most of them will be starting a whole new program focused on physiotherapy treatment of scoliosis. What an impact this group will have on the underserved population of people who have scoliosis in USA.

So great to welcome and teach this set of engaged and energetic physical therapists in learning the BSPTS Concept by Rigo. The more PTs are educated in this method, the more options our patients have for the conservative treatment of scoliosis.
