The Rigo Concept-BSTPS exercises incorporate three-dimensional curve-specific strategies to help decrease the risk of curve progression, improve postural awareness, reduce pain, increase strength, improve breathing and body mechanics. The exercises help to stabilize the spine while creating mobility in your body only where you need it.
Additionally, we focus on activities related education with an overall goal of improving quality of life. We discuss and solve for your current observations about your abilities and activities. We aim encourage you to keep doing the activities that you love to do and/or have to do, but also teach you how to do these activities or responsibilities better.
Each adult needs a carefully developed program. The number of visits or hours that it takes to do this depends on your specific needs. We will learn about your needs at your free consult. We will discuss your history, check your current status, and then select a program that accommodates your needs.
Once we select your program and complete an evaluation, we begin the learning. The number of exercises that you will learn and the frequency for practice at the clinic or at home is determined by many factors that are teased out through our time together. The program and the exercises are made to be attainable and sustainable. What is the reason for this?
This is not your average physical therapy experience. What you learn at SAPT becomes part of your self-care plan for the long term. Even if there are seasons when you find time hard to come by for exercise, these are exercise are your foundation. When you do find time, again, to exercise, you will start with this program first.
